Feel the force!

Loud music is one of the only things in my life that had always brought me joy. I don't remember when that started, but I do remember raving in the late 80s/early 90s and the feeling of the music vibrating deep in your chest is one if the most joyous things...you can forget who you are, all your hang-ups and just let yourself go and be who you want to be!

Ipods, DAB and more 'recently' Spotify (other streaming services are available) have literally revolutionised my life!

I've always had music on and Spotify give me access to and endless array of the stuff and with the Shazam app too helping me add music I love but don't know the name of to a playlist, music continues to be a constant.

During one of the Covid lockdowns I stumbled across a DAB station that had the same name as a pirate radio station from my youth...Centreforce 88.3...so I tuned in and couldn't believe that it was in fact the very same station, playing the familiar music, with familiar DJs and felt a lot like home!

It was the find of the century...

There is even an app for my phone, I literally never leave home without it in my ears.

After all the lockdowns finished Centreforce started advertising events, so decided I'd have a look and booked a Live Broadcast Brunch...what a game changer!

Essentially day time raving for (mainly) people of the same age, but still home in bed by 11pm - wonderful! Not sure why people ever went out raving all night, this is much more acceptable.

The first one was a bit tentative until at least 4 or 5 pints, but I'd seen enough to know this was for me!

We've been to as many as possible since then and have had some awesome days out. Sometimes we crash and burn early, but who cares?

In nightclubs and in outdoor venues too...

Feeling the music and being alive and happy in the moment is what it is all about.

There are a lot of people there who look like they have never had a break from raving, these people live, breath and stomp it! They look blissfully unaware of anyone else and I envy them.

If you lived in that era, then I recommend re-living it while you still can!

...on bad days Centreforce in my ears improves my mood enough and on good days it has the power to male me smile and be genuinely happy.

So this is my 'BIG SHOUT OUT' to all of the DJs at Centreforce, from Peter P & Max Isaacs making my breakfast, to Ratpack who I first came across in Seduction at Margate Lido and who still make me smile to newer ones like Secret Agenda and Master Pasha and the rest off the team - all awesome!

If you are even vaguely interested, how about my recent Shazam playlist...: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5gxHhJ2KaKmr8ASWJGEUeG?si=80da54a914c340e7
